How to Audit an Aluminum Extrusion Factory in Foshan: A 7-Point Checklist

A useful factory audit follows the product from incoming billet to finished shipment. It should establish who performs each operation, which records support the work and how the supplier controls your critical requirements. At Guantian, buyers can visit the Sanshui manufacturing plant and, separately, the Nanhai spot-inventory warehouse according to their purchasing needs.

Agree the audit scope before the visit

Start with your application, alloy, finish, quantities and the operations you expect the supplier to perform. A trading company, manufacturer and coordinated partner network can offer different supply scopes; the important point is to understand the actual arrangement rather than infer it from an office or showroom alone.
Guantian's current Sanshui operation occupies approximately 100 mu, equivalent to about 66,667 square meters, and has 7 extrusion lines from 800T to 1500T plus 2 in-house coating lines. Actual output exceeded 50,000 metric tons in 2025. The new Sihui heavy-tonnage base is planned for operation in 2027; it should be discussed separately from equipment already running at Sanshui.

The seven-point walkthrough

Audit pointWhat to inspectQuestions and records to request
1. Billet receiving and storageAlloy identification, batch labels and protected material storage. How are incoming certificates, supplier information and production batches linked?
2. Die library and maintenanceCustomer-coded dies, storage condition, preparation and maintenance arrangements.Which die belongs to this profile revision, and where are repair or treatment records kept?
3. Extrusion and run-out equipmentPress identification, heating, quenching, run-out handling and stretching.Which press and process route are proposed for your alloy and section?
4. Coating and wood-grain operationsPretreatment, spray booths, powder recovery, curing and decorative transfer.Which stages are in-house, what material is specified, and how is the approved sample retained?
5. Thermal break and fabricationKnurling, threading, rolling, sawing and suitable punching equipment.Which operations are completed here and which require a qualified partner?
6. Active quality inspectionHardness testers, film gauges, calipers and dedicated fit gauges in use.Can inspectors show the actual batch records, acceptance limits and measuring-equipment controls?
7. Packing and dispatchDry indoor storage, surface protection, labels, bundle support and staging. How are mixed specifications separated, traced and restrained during shipment?
Look for working evidence rather than equipment ownership alone. A hardness tester in a cabinet says little about whether the correct batch was tested. Ask to see a recent inspection record, the associated profile code and the relevant acceptance criteria. Similarly, the presence of a coating line does not prove that every specialist finish is processed there.
Follow up on exposed finished stock, mixed labels, damaged die storage, uncontrolled handling or missing records. Establish how exceptions are corrected and recorded. Specialist outsourcing should be disclosed with clear inspection responsibilities; it should not be confused with an uncontrolled process merely because a partner performs it.

Production plant and spot warehouse serve different needs

The Sanshui Leping manufacturing plant, near Yuantan Primary School in Leping Town, Sanshui District, Foshan, is the location for reviewing extrusion, coating, tooling preparation and custom OEM projects with the engineering and production teams. Confirm the navigation pin and reception contact before travel.
The Guantian Xinmei warehouse in Shishan Town, Nanhai District, Foshan, is intended for catalog systems and available stock. Buyers can inspect stocked window and door profiles and discuss collection. A one-to-three-day spot pickup may be possible for confirmed available stock; custom extrusion and newly specified finishes need their own schedule.
Guantian Xinmei is Guantian Aluminum's architectural product brand. The names appear across catalogs and operations, but buyers should still confirm the exact profile code, supplier entity and order documents. Do not assume that a showroom visit covers every manufacturing operation in an OEM order.

Arrange an on-site or live video audit

  • Contact the sales team one to three business days ahead with the preferred date, attendee count and product focus.
  • Share section drawings and important hardware or gasket samples in advance so that the appropriate engineering and production colleagues can join.
  • Confirm the address, transport arrangements, areas to be visited and any customer-confidential material that cannot be photographed.
  • If visiting remotely, request a continuous live WhatsApp or WeChat walkthrough and agree which equipment, gauges and records to review.
A video tour can show current operations and live measurements, but it is most useful with an agreed checklist. Ask the presenter to connect the shown profile to its drawing and batch record. If a process is not running during the visit, request its documented route and arrange a later demonstration where necessary.

Frequently asked questions

When can we visit?
Normal reception hours are daily from 08:00 to 18:00, China Standard Time (UTC+8), including lunchtime. Arrange visits in advance, especially on weekends or holidays. Sales support remains available outside office hours, with replies as soon as a team member is available.
Can you help arrange transport?
Share your flight, train or hotel details with the sales manager at least 24 hours in advance. Pickup arrangements can then be confirmed according to the itinerary and vehicle availability. Allow for actual traffic rather than relying on a fixed airport travel time.
Can an overseas buyer audit before ordering?
Yes. Discuss an on-site visit or a live video audit before the deposit. Bring a project-specific checklist covering manufacturing scope, quality records, tooling, finishing and packaging rather than relying only on general factory photographs.
